Edward R. Matson
OROFINO, Idaho - The funeral for Edward R. Matson, 77, of Orofino, was held this week at Wells Bench Cemetery here. Mr. Matson died of cancer Wednesdsy at his home.
He moved to the Orofino area in 1920 and married Lucile Smith. She died in 1929 and he married Myrtle Stamper at Orofino in 1937. She survives at the family home.
He was born in 1903 at Ogema, Wis., and worked as a logger. He retired in 1967.
Survivors also include two sons, Gerald of Orofino and Donald of Harpster, Idaho; a daughter Mrs. Geraldine Russell of Orofino; four sisters, Mrs. Florence Schubach of Orofino, and Edith Matson, Grace Matson, and Mrs. Jessie Lindberg, all of Ogema; a brother Charles of Klamath Falls, Ore., eight grand-children and three great-grandchildren.
